Let Him in
This season, may we learn to keep Christ at the center of our lives all year long and feel His love
Hi sweet friend. Welcome, December!
I have been pondering and thinking about what living a Christ-centered life really means. What does it really mean to keep Him not only at the center of the Christmas season, but at the center of our whole lives.
I’ve thinking a lot about the premortal existence, and how Satan’s plan was one of compulsion, in which when presented with the plan of happiness in the Council in heaven, Satan said,
“Behold [here am] I; send me, I will be thy son, and I will redeem all mankind, that one soul shall not be lost, and surely I will do it; wherefore, give me thine honor.”1
Satan wanted the honor and the glory for himself. His entire plan was one of self-seeking, self-aggrandisement and self-glorification. Christ offered Himself in order to do Heavenly Father’s will. He sought nothing other than to glorify Heavenly Father when He said,
“Father, thy will be done, and the glory be thine forever.”2
I believe that keeping Christ at the center means de-centering ourselves and centering Him. It means studying learning all we can of Him, and then, becoming more like Him.
Making room for Christ in our hearts means no longer seeking ourselves, but seeking to serve. It means that all we do is to glorify God. All of our resources, all of our actions, who we are and what we seek for are to glorify our Heavenly Parents. Sometimes this looks like remembering Him in our tender celebrations (even just whispering a quick prayer of gratitude in the middle of a special holiday moment!) I think it means slowing down and taking the time to also remember what we are called to do at this time- to prepare the earth and its people for His return.
He will return to a people whose hearts are knit together in love3He will return to a people who are like Him— “When He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.”4
I pray that you take the time to slow down and feel His love this season as we strive for this great work. I love you so much sweet friend and I hope your season is off to a beautiful start.
Read Whatever scriptures you are focusing your study within right now (whether it’s the New Testament for Come Follow Me, reading the Book of Mormon daily, or studying the Old Testament)-take a colored pencil of your choice (I love blue!) and underline the passages that reveal the character of Christ.
Recall Write down the passages you underlined in a separate journal and study them.
Reflect Ponder the immense gift of the good news- who He is, His atoning sacrifice, and His promises.
Reclaim Reclaim your love and utter devotion to Him who makes this season and every single day possible and full of His love.

Thank you for this, Ashli. Slowing down has been such a game changer for me this year, and I really want to carry it on for a long time. Sometime this month I felt stressed about gift-giving but really it's the thought that counts (lol)—God reminded me the most important part of it all, remembering Jesus Christ and centering Him in all we do. To slow down and smell the roses. Just like you beautifully wrote! 🎄💝
